e-rare

E-Rare wants to facilitate the links between research teams working in the field of rare diseases and technology platforms that can provide resources and/or expertise to these teams.

An E-Rare survey among researchers showed that next generation sequencing (NGS) technology is considered as highly strategic for rare disease research, but scarcely used. E-Rare therefore set out to create a database of laboratories that are performing next generation sequencing throughout the European Research Area.

The database contains contact details as well as useful data on location, conditions for access and the technology that is available for laboratories in 13 European countries. This is not an exhaustive list; it is updated as we receive information from laboratories willing to participate.

This database was established in collaboration with the EU-initatives ERA-Instruments, gENVADIS and RDPlatform.
